An Overview of Cisco Certification Exams
CCNA or the Cisco Certified Network Associate is the first step in Cisco’s certification process. This exam is taken as an alternative to taking two tests, the ICND1 640-822 and ICND2 640-816. There is no prior certification required to take the CCNA Exam and it will determine your knowledge on installing and troubleshooting different types of routers or network systems.

The CCNP certification exam will test the individual’s capability to install, configure and troubleshoot local and wide area networks that has 100 to 500 nodes. They also need to demonstrate knowledge in edge applications with voice, wireless and security integration with the network. CCNP exams are now conducted via computer with multiple choice questions, select-and-place and simulation type questions.
